Digicel mobile Money for labasa soccer fan club
Thursday, 07th July, 2011 Fiji: Digicel Fiji has created another milestone with its Digicel Mobile Money as Labasa soccer fans can support their team by sending money to Labasa soccer Fan Club using a mobile phone.
Digicel has set up a Labasa Soccer Fan Club number/wallet whereby all mobile phone users can donate to the number 765 4100. Digicel is not charging any sender transfer fees.
Labasa Soccer Fan Club President said that their main aim is to increase their fan base and work with two main objectives. First to improve the quality of soccer in Labasa and second to improve the welfare of the players.
Furthermore, the contributions that they would get from the fans may lead to incentives for players to improve performance as well as assistance towards their studies. Other ripple effects of this would see them assisting schools with sporting gear, tournaments for soccer development in the north and other opportunities yet to be explored.
Digicel Fiji Ltd Public Relations and Community Manager Joji Fatiaki says, “This is another achievement for Digicel Mobile Money and our community initiatives. Providing this sort of service to the fan club is a continued commitment of Digicel towards the desired convenience for these organisations and the community."
