Digicel signs up for MOBilise conference with $13,000 backing for weeklong event
Monday, 18 October 2010 – Suva, Fiji: Digicel Fiji today announced its sponsorship for the MOBilise 2010, which will see ex-students from the school converge in Fiji for a week long event.
MOBilise 2010, though beginning in Nadi and the Coral Coast, will be basically held in Suva from the 23rd October 2010 to Saturday 31st October 2010.
Digicel Fiji is a name spoken with community and sports at all levels in Fiji where the company likes to be involved in events, which is of benefit for the people of Fiji.
Digicel has same innovation and progression as MOB and this is in addition to the fact we share the same brand color as Marist Fiji.
In a bid to help in community development, MOBilise is an ideal event for Digicel to be associated with and give to one of the biggest and best schools in Fiji something in return to make the event a big success.
The champion status Marist has with its athletics team and the support of the MOB with the team each year is another show of the camaraderie between the Marist communities.
Digicel is of the similar belief that working together breeds success.
Many of the MOB are Digicel customers and Digicel wants to give back to these very people.
Together with Digicel Fiji, MOBilise believes in giving back to the community and the development of sport is a vital link between the communities in our beloved country.
Digicel’s aim is to broaden its sponsorship to local events in a bid to help Fiji’s very own budding stars and communities.
Digicel Fiji PR and Community Manager, Indra Singh said, “Digicel is all about giving back to the community of Fiji. The MOBilise conference is an ideal opportunity for Digicel to showcase it commitment to Fiji and how we believe in such events. MOBilise initiatives in the past have had tangible benefits like, the provision of internet access and computers for MBHS and associate schools, a container load of books distributed to MBHS and other schools, brand new band equipment that led to the reincarnation of Marist Rock developing students musical talent, brand new lab equipment for physics, chemistry and biology labs, among other benefits. This is in direct line with Digicel’s motto of giving back to community.”
