DIGICEL LAUNCHES SUPERB BROADBAND SERVICES

Thursday 4th August, 2011 Fiji: Digicel Broadband has today launched their new mobile broadband service to offer Fiji with high speed access, mobility and absolute value.

The launch of this service will greatly improve connectivity within the selected areas for inbound roamers. Majorly, tourists and travellers can now upgrade to 3G broadband access with Digicel Fiji in the following perimeters as part of this first phase installation; Nadi Town, Denarau, Nadi Airport, Namaka, Nasoso, Pearl Resort, Natadola, Hideaway Resort, Sigatoka, Vomo Island Resort, Mana Island Resort, Solevu Island Resort, Lami Town, Khalsa Road and Suva City.

The service will also catapult the demand for speed and efficiency with smartphones and laptop users in the market with other phases to come into effect later.  With 3G roamers majorly from Australia and New Zealand, it will be of great awareness to them that they are able to roam as well in Fiji on 3G at very high speed.

Customers can also get connected via 3G enabled handsets, tablet PC’s like the iPad, on their laptops with the simple Digicel USB plug-in modem, or using the innovative “MiFi” option catering up to five PC’s at any one time. Whilst this upgrade will see an unlimited increase in satisfaction and reliable internet services, the existing rates to broadband services remain the same.

Digicel Fiji Head of Marketing Kamal Haer says, “The launch of this new service is a definite boost to broadband services and will be one of the most convenient things the travelling person will enjoy especially when it comes with great value too. We’re upgrading our services but maintain our rates which set our services apart. This $6 million investment in another testament to Digicel’s commitment to Fiji.”
