LECTURER WINS TRIP TO WELLINGTON SEVENS

 

Thursday 26th January 2012, Fiji:

Digicel and BSP today announced the winner of one of their prizes for their joint “TXT to Win” promotion.

 

Paula Mekemeke of Suva won a return trip package; tickets and accommodation to watch the Sevens in Wellington, plus $1,000 spending money.

 

Mr Mekemeke, a lecturer at Fiji National University in Suva was delighted at the news of his win. He also confirmed that with an existing and valid visa to NZ, he now only needs to apply for his leave from work for the trip. He is thankful for the timely announcement and is anticipating a great experience at the games.

 

At the time he received the good news, Mr Mekemeke said, “I only texted twice and didn’t really think I had a chance at all. I was in disbelief when I was informed.”

 

Digicel Fiji’s Sponsorship, Public Relations and Community Manager Joji Fatiaki said, “Our TXT to WIN competition for this season of the IRB Sevens series has yielded good results. We have centered our consolation prizes on the two main tournaments, Wellington and Hong Kong. We are pleased to announce our winner today, Paula Mekemeke and I am certain that he will enjoy the games at Wellington.”

 

BSP Head of Marketing Nirdesh Singh said, “We are happy to partner with Digicel on this exciting promotion. The major prize of the Hilux is certainly attractive and the $10,000 in cash prizes will make the whole promotion very rewarding to many customers.“

 

The TXT to WIN competition also features $10,000 cash to be given away, Digicel & BSP branded rugby balls, a trip to Hong Kong Sevens with $1,000 spending money and the grand prize, the Hilux to be drawn in April 2012. The competition requires Digicel mobile customers to txt ‘TRY’ to 7070 to be in the draw to win some great prizes and the major prize in April, a Hilux vehicle.

 

The Wellington Sevens is well known for its party-like atmosphere that draws crowds and fans and in their creative costumes. Tickets to the Wellington Sevens were sold out in less than three minutes on 4th October 2011 proving the popularity of the event.
