DIGICELFIJI BRAND AMBASSADORS TOP SPORTS PERSONALITY RANKS

 

Tuesday 03rdJanuary 2012, Fiji: Digicel Fiji congratulates Digicel brand ambassador BanuveTabakaucoro on winning the Fiji One “2011 Sports Personality of the Year” award.

 

Banuve topped the ratings with fifty four percent of text votes from Fiji One viewers. Atthe 2011 Coke Games, Banuve became the fastest school boy in Fiji by making a clean sweep in the 100m, 200m and 4 X100mraces and setting a new record in the 200m sprint.

 

Dubbed “The Bauan Bullet” by the media, Banuve continued his winning streak at the Pacific Games in Noumea by winning gold medals for all his events in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay.

 

Banuve is currently enrolled in the Sports Science Academy at the Marist Brothers High School.

 

Digicel Fiji 7s captain Setefano Cakau was runner up in the competition. Cakau is another Digicel Fiji associated athlete and led the Digicel Fiji 7’s team to their triumphant opening win at the Gold Coast leg of the IRB sevens series.
