DIGICELBARBARIANS FOR UPRISING SEVENS TOURNAMENT 2012
Friday, 13thJanuary 2012, Fiji:Digicel Fiji and Fiji Rugby Union today named the Digicel Barbarians squad to participate in the Uprising Sevens 2012 on 20th and 21st January.
The tournament which will be held at the National Stadium in Suva will feature sixteen top class sevens teams from Fiji and overseas.
Fiji Rugby Union CEO Manasa Baravilala says:“This is a great opportunity for the Coach Staff to test their team combination before they depart our shores for the Wellington and Las Vegas tournaments. “The standard of competition in our own local tournaments is always first class, so what better place to test our top national players than at the Uprising Fiji 7s tournament.”

I wish the Digicel Barbarians team the very best of luck at the Uprising 7’s tournament. Digicel Fiji Sevens Coach AliferetiDere said that the Digicel Barbarians squad members along with other players, also need to prove themselves at this tournament as the selectors would be scouting for fresh talent with a few of the initial Digicel Fiji Sevens team members opted ‘out of play’ for the next leg of the IRB Sevens series.
Digicel Fiji is vowing to showcase full support for their Barbarian squad at the tournament.
