Digicel LAUNCHES YOU’RE FREE AFTER 5 MINUTES PROMOTION

Digicel customers get free Digicel to Digicel calls all day and night, when they talk for a total of 5 minutes in a day

Tuesday, 16 August 2010 – Suva, Fiji: Digicel Fiji today launched its latest great value promotion – ‘You’re Free After Five Minutes’

From today when Digicel Fiji customers talk for a total of five minutes, they will get free Digicel to Digicel calls for the rest of the day and night.

The ‘You’re Free After Five Minutes’ promotion will replace the current 5c It’s Simple offer, and launches today.

This promotion is supported by a heavyweight media advertising campaign on radio, television, press and online, and is set to continue for the foreseeable future.

When a Digicel customer has accumulated a total of 2.5 minutes of Digicel to Digicel calls, they will receive a text message explaining that if they talk for a total of 5 minutes, they will get the rest of the day and night Free and that they are now half way there!

When a Digicel customer hits 5 minutes a further text will be received saying, “Congratulations! All your Digicel to Digicel calls are now free until midnight tonight. Offer excludes international calls.”

The launch of the new promotion was celebrated in a big way with a Communications Fiji Ltd. outdoor broadcast at the Digicel Cumming Street store and a Customer Registration Fun Day at Sukuna Park today with giveaways galore and other fun activities such as face painting.

Digicel Fiji Chief Executive Officer Matt Davey said, “This is one of the most compelling offers ever seen in the Fiji market, and we’re pleased to be able to add more super value for our customers after the success of our 5 cents plan. Digicel customers are sure to take advantage of this great promotion, and we encourage Digicel customers to get their family and friends to switch to Digicel to avail of this great offer from today.”

Davey continued “This promotion allows us to give our customers the freedom to constantly talk on their Digicel mobiles and at the same time continue to provide them with the best value.”

The rates associated with this promotion are 15c per unit peak, and 7c off peak for Digicel to Digicel calls, and texts cost 7c from Digicel to Digicel and 15c to other networks.

*Free call maximum duration is 60 minutes. A unit is 30 seconds. Peak hours are from 7am-7pm weekdays, and off peak hours are from 7pm-7am on weekdays and all weekend.
