DIGICEL CUSTOMER WINS FREE TRIP TO HONG KONG

AND PHOTO OPPORTUNITY WITH DIGICEL FIJI 7S TEAM

Saturday, 20^th March, 2010 Fiji:  Digicel announced the winner of their Hong Kong text to win promotion today: Baciseva Ranadiniqamulagi, 39, won a trip for two to the home of 7s rugby, Hong Kong with airfares, accommodation and match tickets provided by Digicel.

Baciseva claimed her prize today in Digicel’s Cummings Street Store and this will be her first time travelling overseas. When first informed of her win, Baciseva thought it was a prank call.

“I thought it was someone playing a trick on me. Then Matthew Nute, Sponsorship Manager called again to confirm my win and the announcement at Digicel Cummings Street today. I am very very happy, especially since this is my first trip overseas and I will also get to meet the Digicel Fiji 7s team. My cousin is as excited as me, luckily she has travelled overseas before, so it will be good to be going together.”

Digicel’s Hong Kong text to win promotion has been running since February, customers simply texted in ‘Hong Kong’ to 7777 to qualify for the draw. A record number of entries were received for the competition and more competitions of this nature are planned for the year.

Digicel Fiji Marketing Director, Niamh Byrne said, “We are delighted to be giving one lucky Digicel customer the chance to experience the thrill of Hong Kong. In addition to winning this amazing prize, Baciseva will also meet the Digicel Fiji 7s team over a meal while in Hong Kong. Her winning number was drawn Friday, 19^th March at Digicel Headquarters in Kadavu House, in the presence of SC2807 Mataiasi Tuilevu from Central Police Station. 

Digicel is also sponsoring the airing of the Hong Kong 7s live on Fiji 1 next weekend.
