Mobile competition HOTs-UP: Digicel offers best rates yet
Thursday, 11th February 2010, Fiji: Digicel, Fiji’s bigger, better network, has made the choice to switch to Digicel even simpler for customers by offering an unrivalled anytime rate of 5 cent per unit calls and 5 cent texts across the Digicel network. The Pacific’s fastest growing mobile operator has stripped away the often confusing promotions, conditions and short-term special offers to reveal the best prepaid mobile rates in Fiji.
The new prepaid rates launched today (Thursday, 11 February) sees prices for calls and texts on the Digicel network slashed to 5 cent per unit and 5 cent per SMS, while calls to other networks and landlines have been reduced to an extremely competitive 20 cent per unit.
Matt Davey, Digicel Fiji’s CEO says, “Our message is simple. Since launching in Fiji Digicel has always offered the best value, but our feedback is telling us that some of the public have become confused by the countless special promotions and short-term offers in the market place. Well, with 5 cent calls and 5 cent texts any time, now the choice is simple and there is no reason for people to continue to overpay with other operators. For those who haven’t made the switch to Digicel yet, now’s the time.”
To register for the new prepaid rates, customers simply send a blank text to 123, and can start making calls and sending texts at these flat rates right away.
